From children’s wellbeing
to women’s power

๐ŸŒธ Launched on International Women’s Day, 2017

Humara Bachpan Trust (HBT) places women’s empowerment at the heart of its mission, with SAMBHAVI emerging as a flagship initiative. Launched on International Women’s Day, SAMBHAVI represents a natural evolution of HBT’s journey โ€” moving from working with children to recognising the critical role of mothers in shaping children’s wellbeing.

This realisation became the foundation for engaging women directly โ€” enhancing their income generation capacity, social status, and decision-making power within families, ultimately improving outcomes for children and communities.

SAMBHAVI enables women from economically marginalised backgrounds to build life skills, access livelihood opportunities, and become self-reliant, creating a ripple effect of social change that begins with individuals and expands through empowered collectives.

The SAMBHAVI Framework

01 02 03 04 Power Within Power To Power Over Power With Self-confidence & Inner Growth Recognising inner potential Women develop awareness of their own strengths and agency. Personal growth begins from within โ€” building the foundation for every other change. Skills, Livelihoods & Opportunity Connecting women to opportunity Vocational training, job placement and entrepreneurship โ€” enabling women to earn, lead, and thrive independently. Rights, Equality & Agency Challenging unequal dynamics Women asserting their rights at home and in society โ€” challenging social norms, power imbalances, and gender-based discrimination. Solidarity & Collective Action Building community strength Women’s groups, SHGs, and networks building solidarity for sustained community change and collective advocacy.
