Holistic, Play-Based Early Learning
HBT’s ECCD interventions focus on promoting all-round development — physical, social, emotional, creative, language, and cognitive — through developmentally appropriate, play-based programmes.
The programme reaffirms quality education as one of the most powerful vehicles for sustainable development, and is aligned with the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC).
📜 Aligned with UNCRC Articles 3, 6, and 18Why It Matters
The early years of a child’s life are critical for brain development, learning, behaviour, and health. Quality early childhood care builds the foundation for lifelong learning, wellbeing, and success.
By investing in young children, families, and communities, HBT ensures every child receives the care, stimulation, and opportunities they need to thrive.
Six Pillars of Development
Every intervention is designed to meet children where they are — joyfully, inclusively, and with deep care for their future.
Physical, social, emotional, creative, language, and cognitive growth through quality early interventions.
Experiential, child-friendly approaches that help children learn naturally and joyfully.
Child-friendly, stimulating centres that support early learning, nutrition, and health.
Equipping families with knowledge and skills to support their child’s early development.
Mobilizing communities to monitor, improve, and sustain quality ECCD services.
Equitable access to early education, aligned with Sustainable Development Goal 4.
Promoting ECCD in Anganwadi Centres
HBT creates enabling environments where learning is directed by children’s interests and developmental priorities. The Building as Learning Aid (BaLA) framework transforms Anganwadi Centres into child-friendly resource spaces.
Through this approach, HBT has developed 33 model Anganwadi Centres across Puri and Bhubaneswar in Odisha, and in the Malanpur industrial area of Bhind district, Madhya Pradesh.
