Child leaders conducted cities4kids audit to find the gaps in early childhood care.

250  Child Leaders of Humara Bachpan Trust bring to light the appalling truth of the 62 operating Anganwaadis in Bhopal.

The Child Leaders, over the course of a month enquired and collected information from the community members, Anganwaadi teachers and Anganwaadi helpers. Sonu Solanki, Regional Coordinator said that the idea of the children conducting the audits is that they have better understanding of the problems.” The Child Leaders said that the motive of the audit was to see if the children of age 0-6 availed the basic services and pre-primary education but have come to the conclusion that the Anganwaadis lacked basic necessities like drinking water, clean surroundings and even electricity.

Child Leader, Harsh Kushwah said, “Many Anganwaadis do not have the provision of a ramp for which child with disabilities face a lot of problems. And due to the unavailability of drinking water, Anganwaadi helpers go fetch water from nearby places which may not be very hygienic.

“These reports will be sent to the Women and Child Development Department.” Added Sonu Solanki.
