Our work in Bhubaneswar dates to November 2012 with the campaign being initiated in this city. The first Humara Bachpan child club started in Bhubaneswar in March 2013. Over a period of five years, Humara Bachpan has its presence in 130 slums in the city and has formed 124 child clubs. We are reaching out to 13,386 children & 574 Child Leaders, 4878 women and 1465 youth in the communities through our children leadership program and various children led community engagement programs. 25 children led neighbourhood plans have been developed.
Apart from Humara Bachpan Campaign, we have several other programs in Bhubaneswar with the women and youth in slums. We have launched our women’s initiative “Sambhavi – Empowerment with Enterprise and Employability” through which we have been providing life skills training to women for their personality and career development. The objective of this initiative is to empower women through skill building, enterprise and employability.
We are engaged in “Implementation of community based activities in slums under Smart City Interventions” programme supported by United Nations Population Fund and Bhubaneswar Smart City Limited.
