• Cluster Level Federation Meeting

    Bagmugalia, Anganwadi.

The recent Cluster level Federation meeting saw the participation of 21 child leaders from five different slums. They discussed about all the problems they’ve solved in the last month and the fact that the cleanliness rally conducted the previous month has brought about much change.

Bhopal, the capital of the central Indian state of Madhya Pradesh, also known as the city of lakes is one of the greenest cities in India, with a population of 1,798,218 (Census 2011). Humara Bachpan started working in this city in 2014.

About 26.68% of Bhopal’s population lives in urban poverty. Humara Bachpan’s interventions spread to 50 slums across Bhopal and touched the lives of 353 women, 226 youths and approximately 6332 children.

Humara Bachpan helped form 46 child clubs and groomed over 160 child leaders who not only are able to identify the problems of their communities, but also engineer strategies to implement solutions. As a result, quite a few changes have taken place such as, better access to drinking water, electricity and improvement in the anganwadis ( early childhood care centers)  23 Sambhavi women groups and 20 youth groups have been formed to work on urban governance and participate in city planning, design and development.
