Sambhavi-Jeevan Jeevika will empower women, youth and men with tools and knowledge that will enable them to become economically independent. This will in turn enhance the perception of women’s contribution to household income and family welfare resulting in sustainable livelihood and increasing women’s participation in household decisions. The focus of this initiative is to empower women in all spheres of life –political, socio, cultural and economic. Not to miss the growth story of new India, focus is on training and skill building to able those living in poverty to break the cycle of poverty through enterprise development and employment.
To develop entrepreneurship and employability among women from slums with strong hand holding support, improving adaptability and providing a strong post-training support to create higher sustainability
Entrepreneurship Development – Providing interested individuals the basic understanding of business, financial management, exposure to small scale entrepreneurs and enterprises and at the same time providing handholding support in terms of providing business counselling and creating linkages with government institutions for financial assistance.
Employability Training – Helping urban poor women become viable social entrepreneurs. It will focus on providing job related training on skills mostly required by local firms. Digital literacy will also be one of the important components of employability training.
Self-Advancement Training for Women Under Difficult Circumstances
Life skills have been defined as “the abilities for adaptive and positive behavior that enable individuals to deal effectively with the demands and challenges of everyday life. To instil positive vibe among women under difficult circumstances and to build up their personal and professional skill, an advancement training course titled as Personal Advancement & Career Enhancement (PACE) is being provided to 1500 women from 84 slums of Bhubaneswar. The program is supported by Gram Tarang Employability Training Services Pvt. Ltd. The training supports women’s skills development and encourages them to use their voices and dream bigger so they can help themselves, their families and communities thrive for generations. In addition to educating women and increasing their skills on these critical topics, the most transformative lesson PACE delivers is knowledge of how women can advocate for themselves.
Gaining Opportunity for Self-Employment Through Beauty & Wellness Training
To develop entrepreneurship and employability among women and girls from slums and making them economically empowered, HBT has started imparting skill building training to 60 numbers of women and girls from different slums of Bhubaneswar in support of Gram Tarang Employability Training Services Pvt. Ltd. The 1st phase training is given on Beauty & Wellness for a two months period where 17 women are getting both theory and practical classes on modules like threading, waxing, pedicure, manicure, Facial, Skin analysis & different types of make-up procedures. These women after successful completion of training will receive certificate and assured placement support with Godrej Salon Pvt Ltd.
Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY)
PMKVY project is to skill urban poor women in Bhubaneswar was initiated in March 2018. It will train 1500 women and girls in four different job roles. Gram Tarang ( Centurion University) is the training partner. The training is imparted at two training centres in Bhubaneswar, equipped with separate classrooms and laboratory facilities for the specified job roles. Skilled and experienced trainers for each job roles are imparting training to the women candidates and preparing them for their dignified participation in the workforce. Linkages with financial institutions and employers are being established from entrepreneurship and employment.
